Dear Linda, At the very least the pedantic schmuck did read what I wrote which is more than what most people do these days. Because I am an Argentine you might not know this interesting little fact about orientales. To begin with in Spanish we never capitalize nationalities. Argentina is on the western bank of the River Plate and Uruguay is on the eastern bank. The complete and correct name of that country is La República Oriental del Uruguay. So we argentinos call the uruguayos orientales.
