I enjoyed your essay. I am pleasantly obsessed with what is erotic and in my photography (I am now a retired magazine photographer and writer) now that I am 75 I have noticed that my idea of what is erotic is much more subtle and cerebral. It is less below the belt. So when I take photographs I think in that way. I am constantly writing about this in my daily blog. I used to wonder about the connection (now I don’t bother) as to why Japanese men adore the female neck, why ballerinas invariably dance with their hair up and why we men consider a woman with her hair up to be elegant. When I take photographs of women I avoid like the plague, neck folds.
