In January 2006 I started my blog. Since then I have posted 4200 of them. From the beginning I had an RSS feed and people could not comment. I write my blog as a diary. I am now a retired (75) magazine photographer and writer. I have money in the bank and need to monitize anything. Why do I use Facebook (and by extension Twitter and this platform called Medium)? About five or more years ago I noticed that some of my friends or family told me they had not noticed my recent blogs. They asked me if I had done so. It was then that I noticed that the RSS feed was dead and the only way to clue people in to my daily blog was to put links (with photographs) into Facebook, Twitter and Medium’s excellent blog importing tool.

I refrain most of the time from commenting on Facebook particularly on politics, sexual behaviour, etc. I have found long lost friends from my youth in Buenos Aires, Mexico City and Austin through Facebook. I asked a first cousin living in Florida if he had survived the hurricane with Facebook’s Messenger.

Skype is dead. I Wattsapp (¡watsapiar!) my friends and relatives in Argentina or I use Messenger. Messenger is a useful tool.
