Santiago Genovés a Spanish/Mexican anthropologist who accompanied Thor Heyerdahl in a few of his ocean raft voyages said in a lecture he made in Mexico City in the late 60s (I was there), “In our effort to be objective we must not forget that objectivity is a subjective invention of man.” In the early 90s I interviewed Mario Vargas Llosa in Lima when he was running for the presidency. In his novel The Real Life of Alejandro Mayta Llosa was precise in the location of an ice cream shop. Just with the info from his novel I found it. I put this fact to Llosa who only smiled!
