In this 21st century it is not only paid journalism that is dying but also typography. I am not a designer or a typographer. I have been a magazine photographer since 1975 until recently when it all died. So I have seen how my photographs have been used with copy and type.
The original Medium M was legible, noticeable and elegant in simplicity. Note the new Medium M in my tool bar. I guess I will eventually get used to the green/cyan and its fading M look. But it certainly is not prominent. In a world in which subtlety has pretty well disappeared why is Medium going for subtle? That could be good.
But the new logo still sucks.
